dM x VIR
Some of the Drift Mechaniks made the trek to VIR for US Drift’s “Civil War” event July 25th. I came along to shoot some film and hang out since I wasn’t able to trailer my car up to participate. These are just a few. See the rest here.
Dennis Mertzanis’s sc vq s14.5 waiting on the top 8 to get under way.
Dennis laying down a winning run in the early initiation contest on the back straight of the Patriot course. I shot this from the corner workers tower that was halfway to the corner.

Look at me…I’m blogging!
sup ya’ll, my name is Byron Hill. I met the dM guys back when theyre wasn’t an Atlanta drift “scene” and have been hanging out ever since. I drive in most of the southeast region events and do event flyers and other odds and ends for Southeast Drift.
I have zero music skills.
I drive a na ka s14. I like to think its fast. most would disagree. I paid too much for it in ’04. I keep adding stuff and it keeps falling off. I need paint, power, and wheels. and a cage. man for wasting all my money it sure does still need a lot.
dM is Atlanta drifting.
hello!!!
My name is Matt Foerst, i run a drift prep company for only the elite of the elite drifters in the southeast. need not apply we find you.

Good Morrow Gentlemen.
Salutations ladies and gentlemen. I’m Alex and I’m new to the Driftmechaniks family. This is my lady.
I’ve been living in the colonies for 4 years and have just completed my degree in Graphic Design. One thing I’ve noticed is that it’s amazing how much cheaper it is to run/own /insure cars is out here, which his how I’ve found myself in the highly accessible motorsport culture.
In 2006, I started with this.
It’s still a lot of fun owning a police car. People slow down for the most part and that searchlight comes in handy. While I was heading downtown one day, I passed Turner Field. I heard tires screeching so I looked over the bridge and witnessed grassroots drifting for the first time. Little did I know, 2 years later, I’d be in their position. Driving the Interceptor was getting boring, so in 2008, I picked up this.
Driving this in the mountains is a blast. But I still hungered for drifting and didn’t want to damage this. January 27th 2009, I got my drift beater.
Fast foward 6 months.
5 events later and I think I’m getting the hang of it.
I really like my new family.
Cheers.
BIG MAN CLUB
Hello internet, my name is Marlow and I’m a large man that drives a corolla
I met Andy and the rest of the dM family waaay back in 2003 or 2004 at Atlanta’s first drift event held at some drag strip parking lot that we destroyed and they had to repave after the event
Since then I drove at events around Atlanta, Nashville, and throughout the southeast
But for some reason I decided to leave my car and friends behind, move to Alabama, and go to pharmacy school in Auburn for the past 3 years
I haven’t driven my car in about 1 year 🙁
On the bright side I only have <1 more year of school (for 9 total years, yikes!) and then ill be making the big bucks and hopefully building awesome cars
I am also an amateur photographer that has been taking pictures around the southeast since the beginning, so be looking for updates sometimes, but again school has slowed this down for me too
An example of my awesome work:
But hang in there guys, ill be updating with cool cars from around the interwebs until I can get the hell out of Alabama and back to Nashville and start driving again
Also check out the other blag I post boring stuff on: Team Rowdy (on the friends list to the right)
shawn shawn till the break of dawn!
I tried to think up an original intro w/ lots of impact to start this off… but all I have is Hi I am Shawn.

I have been drifting since about 03′ but have been a fanboy since 01′. I drive this thing.

Hi, This is Revel.
Hello. My real name is Tyler, but i go by revel on most forums. Been living in atlanta since 1998. Came to atlanta for the Atlanta College of Art which sadly is no more since SCAD bought it up. Started drifting in late 2006 with my first nissan 240sx, a 1991 240sx coupe that was already swapped with a stock SR20DET. From there I started attending DG Trials and SouthEastDrift events. My first 240 was a complete rustbucket, but the motor was stout and handled the abuse well. After a year of constantly worrying that the rusty shell would fall apart on me i picked a nicer 1992 240sx coupe shell void of motor, tranny, and most of the interior. That shell lasted just under a year and now I am on my third 240 shell. Went with another 1992 coupe. Just made things easier since everything would transfer over without much work. I guess thats the basic intro so heres some pics:
S13 Version 1 was purchased in March of 2006. Near stock when i brought it home.
The basic engine bay shot
This is probably the best pic of my first 240. Bigger FMIC, Sportmax wheels (when i knew nothing of good offset)
This was the second shell the day I brought it home November 2007. No motor, no tranny, and no interior
This was the second shells first event. Moved up to 17×9+15s and added a Silvia front
Painted suby silver, added Origin front bumper, replica skirts and rear bumper, and some 18×10 fronts and 18×12 rears
This is my favorite pic. If you look closely Andy’s BMW is hiding in the smoke trails
This is how Version2 met its end, by way of a pole. Still dont know how i walked away from it unscathed. Lucky I guess. The driver door protruded about 2ft into the car and the Sparco seat was all of 4inches wide after the wreck. Somehow I was still sitting in it. Not comfortably tho. Oddly enough it still drove straight…hell it was still drivable! Even the wheels made it out without a scratch and the suspension was fine
This is the Version3 shell after trailering it home. It was simply a rolling shell at that point
V3 at its shakedown at a SED event in Nashville. Matt Foerst of Foerst Motorwerks and I, with the help of all the DriftMechaniks, made quick work of swapping everything from S13 Ver2 into the Ver3 shell. Took about 3months to get it to this point. I have to give a huge thanks to everyone for their help. I love you guys and cant thank you all enough for the help
S13 Ver3 chilling at SED TripleThreat2 event in Atlanta
Still trying to get the hang of the new shell with a full cage and door bars…..and get over hitting the pole
More to come………………………I have been told that I am not allowed to paint the car…..ever, just add more multi color-ness.
so the multi just keeps coming:
