Papers: Hidden Amidst Napalm

napalm_1024-640

An amazing desktop snapped by Shawn Watson. At first… nobody noticed my e46 buried within the smoke billowing from Tyler Clayton’s super-stretched tyres. I can assure you… the view from my car was about as revealing. I could only see the very front corner of his turn signal. The rest was like driving behind a coal-burning freight train.

I believe I knew your mother, son

Hi. I’m Cody, and I figured it was finally time to make an introduction post on the classy new dM blog. I guess I’ll start with a little about me…

sunday-10

I like posing for strange pictures in showers, eating biscuits, riding my fixed gear bike, shooting guns, playing guitar, taking pictures, and a bunch of other random stuff. I co-own and design S3 Magazine here in Atlanta, check us out and buy a subscription if you haven’t already.

I’ve been drifting for almost 5 years  and had a 95 SR-swapped S14 from 2004 until earlier this year. This car got me started in the sport and eventually led me all across the country competeing in the NOPI Pro Drift series in 2007.

It had a good run, but following a certain top secret drift event held in November of 2008, the entire car was pretty much destroyed (blown motor, destroyed wiring harness, slightly bent frame, etc). Here’s a shot of it during it’s final day of action though.

I started parting out that car late last year and eventually got rid of the shell a few months back. My plan had been to pick up something a bit newer (35oZ or Genesis Coupe), but due to last minute budget restraints I was forced to find something a bit cheaper. Luckily, a friend of mine was selling a super nice S13 hatch for cheap  so I grabbed it up and got to work making a few tasteful additions.

The car still needs a few things to get it up to my liking (bigger turbo, a cage, and maybe a few other sets of wheels), but it’s fun for now.

I guess that’s about it for now, but hopefully I’ll have some new pics and stories to ramble about before too long. Thanks for reading!

Hi, This is Revel.

Hello. My real name is Tyler, but i go by revel on most forums. Been living in atlanta since 1998. Came to atlanta for the Atlanta College of Art which sadly is no more since SCAD bought it up. Started drifting in late 2006 with my first nissan 240sx, a 1991 240sx coupe that was already swapped with a stock SR20DET. From there I started attending DG Trials and SouthEastDrift events. My first 240 was a complete rustbucket, but the motor was stout and handled the abuse well. After a year of constantly worrying that the rusty shell would fall apart on me i picked a nicer 1992 240sx coupe shell void of motor, tranny, and most of the interior. That shell lasted just under a year and now I am on my third 240 shell. Went with another 1992 coupe. Just made things easier since everything would transfer over without much work. I guess thats the basic intro so heres some pics:

S13 Version 1 was purchased in March of 2006. Near stock when i brought it home.

Near stock. Had an SR20DET, ebay FMIC, custom intake, Greddy RS bov, and rust for days

This is probably the best pic of my first 240. Bigger FMIC, Sportmax wheels (when i knew nothing of good offset)

This was the second shell the day I brought it home November 2007. No motor, no tranny, and no interior

God I love this pic. If you look closely Andy's BMW is hiding in the smoke trails.

This is how Version2 met its end, by way of a pole. Still dont know how i walked away from it unscathed. Lucky I guess. The driver door protruded about 2ft into the car and the Sparco seat was all of 4inches wide after the wreck. Somehow I was still sitting in it. Not comfortably tho. Oddly enough it still drove straight…hell it was still drivable! Even the wheels made it out without a scratch and the suspension was fine

This is the Version3 shell after trailering it home. It was simply a rolling shell at that point

V3 at its shakedown at a SED event in Nashville. Matt Foerst of Foerst Motorwerks and I, with the help of all the DriftMechaniks, made quick work of swapping everything from S13 Ver2 into the Ver3 shell. Took about 3months to get it to this point. I have to give a huge thanks to everyone for their help. I love you guys and cant thank you all enough for the help

More to come………………………I have been told that I am not allowed to paint the car…..ever, just add more multi color-ness.

so the multi just keeps coming:
