Dear BBC.
Now that you’ve featured us on your site… you should fly us all over for a cameo on the show. We promise not to burn the studio to the ground.
Well… at least… I promise.
Axel and Patze.

ATTN DRIFTING:
This is what drifting should be forever and always.

Awesome.
It’s like figure skating. Only like not at all.
This is a legitimate photo of how this DVD was found. I couldn’t stop laughing at it, because people always say that drifting is like figure skating. But really… um… it isn’t. I can see a ton of correlations to other action-sports like FMX, skateboarding, or even the Red Bull Flugtag – but I never understood how people see drifting as “the figure skating of motorsports”. I mean… is it any wonder why other sectors of professional motorsports don’t take drifting seriously?

It has been five years since this was created. DriftMechaniks got in a bit of trouble for making what we thought was just a funny take on an existing Formula D poster. We meant no harm with it. This was around the time most of us were just making the transition into the professional arena… and still had street drifting in our blood (I for one, refuse to let that blood thin). This was also around the time that qualifiers were rampantly appearing in the strangest (it seemed) of places. We thought… why not spoof our own qualifier on OUR streets.
At the time we were asked to remove this from the internet, and rightfully so. It was misleading, and sort of wreckless. But it was funny (at least to us), and since 5 years have passed… I think it is safe to post up here.
Good times back then. Drifting was fun. This spoof illustrates that.
Thanks to Cody Wellons for the p-shop action from a great era.
*** UPDATE ***
Apparently there was a preliminary version of the LB flyer that had type on it identical to what Cody originally chopped. He found an example of it using the Wayback Machine. Also… Hello, Tony Schulz!
DMMBK.

Every Monday night we ride late into the night. Some rides go as long as 20 miles or until the sun rises… spanning various routes across metro Atlanta. These rides are proof once again that it doesn’t matter what we’re doing – when we’re doing it together we have a BLAST.
Alex lugged his newly acquired 5D MKII out last week and snapped some pictures throughout the night. He even shot some HD footage with the creamy DOF that only the 5D can get in low light. For more pictures of the ride – take a look at Alex’s Flickr set from the evening.
Old Jump Motion.

I found this old animated jump sequence that Sir Brady Himself snapped back in March of ’07. Jumps make everything rad. Go ahead. Try it.
Waterlogged.

Motorsport Nationals was wet. Very wet. Due to the immense downpour all weekend we were only able to do two ‘proper’ demos. We did do plenty of ‘track drying’ and rain-runs throughout the weekend. Hopefully we will be back next year to REALLY throw down… sans sky-fallen water, of course.
