FOERST thing I would think would be the tach, and shutting off while turning hard are the same thing. Check the wiring for your tach lead.

ahh... find the factory wiring diagram for your whole car and for the car your engine came out of... then start tracing stuff. the S14 wiring is a nightmare compared to the S13 but there's only about 48 wires in the engine harness that had to be re-pinned
