Leech Catheters and Cattleprod Buttplugs (Chucky the wagon)

Make no mistake, this is still the same car, but mostly in the same way that a soul gets transported from one host to another like in Ghost in the Shell or Chucky. It feels exactly the same, drives the same, has the same driver interface, everything. Although the green chassis has given me and some others good times and was even immortalized in Slide America, it's ready to pass on to the next level of existence.

There is still more pull to go. The wheels on the car are currently 15x8 -19 with about 3.75-4" of pull going on, but I when I break 200rwhp I'm planning on fitting my 15x10 -40, which will require another 1.75" of width on each side.

My goal is to have it ready in drift shape by the FOERST weekend in Feb for my shop's Poker Run, so if I can get time off enough I'll be up for that event by you folks, hopefully with a few friends of mine.

I work on my cars more than I post about them, so updates will come in waves, perhaps even not chronologically...

I was wondering if you were the same person in the Slide America movie, what's the lug pattern on that car? 5x100 or the 114.3? that car is crazy with the rolls.

Left-foot braking fixes everything the throttle doesn't fix, including impotence and poor self-esteem. Banging off a rev limiter while looking out a car's side window and slamming into a steering stop will cure cancer. If the car isn't moving around under power, you are a small, testicle-free squirrel. The handbrake fixes everything left-foot braking doesn't fix, including philosophical issues with most major religions and the heartbreakingly impossible question of what you should have for dinner*.

his setup is a melting pot of subaru/nissan/mazda parts. it's 5x114.

Hahaha! Thanks fellas!

The front suspension is FC3S front uprights with shortened steering arms and relocated lower strut bolt hole. 4-piston Turbo II calipers
Image

The rear suspension is S14 rear uprights welded into Legacy upright strut stands and lateral link/trailing arm bosses. Brakes are J30 vented disc with hidden under-console hydraulic Ebrake.
Image
Image

The rear diff is a J30 at the moment, but will most likely become a Detforce or welded shortly. Two passenger side S14 axles were used in a prototype (yet durable) custom R200 subframe. Tubular subframe is on the way now that I have a form to go by. I've been using this rear subframe and differential setup for 3 years and other than some damage incurred by an axle pulling out of the CV cup during extreme initiation (as seen in Slide America), there have been no faults or failures
Image
Image

Transmission is an FM4 gearbox (Phase I EJ25 Outback/GT) coupled to a center section from a Phase II-motored 2.5RS and welded/RWD converted center differential.

Both front and rear wheels are U.S. Wheel brand as purchased through Summit Racing for about $45/ea. 15x8 -19 front and either the same in the rear or 15x10 -40 (more body pull needed). Falken 205-50-15 RT615s front and Kumho AST 225-50-15 (Falken ZE912 205-50-15 pictured) in rear.

The green car (known as the "Devil Legacy") was also stripped of sound deadening, had partial seam welding, roll center adjusted front and rear subframes, crazy clearanced inner fenders and big pull
Image
Image

As seen in Slide America, the green car had 115 RWHP and 125 RWTQ and weighed in at just over 3000lbs. The silver car ought to be a touch lighter and will retain sunroof, interior and AC, but also has significantly more power due to being a Turbo Touring wagon. Minor modification including TMIC, boost controller, inlet and exhaust work ought to push it to around 200 RWHP and 200-220 RWTQ.

Due to suspenison setup and power/weight, this is essentially a 3rd gear street drift car. I've taken it to some ovals here in FL and couldn't get it to even break loose.

The green chassis may or may not stay around. The more I think about it the more I want to hold it up in a storage unit and fully prep it for insanity duty, but I may just simply not be able to make that happen unless I can find someone generous enough to become the caretaker of it.

That's crazy awesome, that sub frame is crazyness, Why did you decided to change the whole rearend? I am just planing on keeping the WRX rearend unless I upgrade to the R180 from the STI then more than likely just get cust axles. Did you use stock and then just start brakeing stuff?

Bingo. R160 is just strong enough for 200rwhp Datsun 510s. I'd reccommend the entire R180 rear setup, but get a 2004 STi if you still want the 5x100 bolt pattern.

I forgot about these:
Image
Of course, to those of you who haven't worked on Subarus, this picture may as well look like this:
Image
Just trust me when I say that it's roughly the same bottom end as the 22B. The heads are alright, but can be improved upon with GTB or WRX heads. That little black duct just in the foreground and to the left of the engine cover is the "turbo chimney" - installed on 93 and 94 models as a substitute to a TMIC or water to air IC, it let hot air escape off of the exhaust housing at a stop and blew colder outside air onto the turbo while moving.

Other photos to give an idea of what had to be done:
Image
Yes, that's Blackbeard's/Edward Teach's flag on my cart, and no I didn't pay $3160 for the silver car.

I'm still not sure what's going to happen to the green car, but my options are:
-Stash it in secret until I finish and sell my Cressida, then maybe sell that to fund the rebuilding
-Keep it as 2nd body for silver car, but repair body and driveline elements only and when it's ready just transfer the parts back
-Sell the rolling chassis with the stipulation that the new owner needs to paint it (it's too recognizable)
-Strip all the valuable parts and junk the chassis so that nobody else can use it

Hmmn... what to do...?
