Me and Marlow are in a few of those pictures. That was before we really knew anyone in at Atlanta except Russ. I was friends with one of the crew of the Drift Day cars. After Saturday night practice, Taka realized that the crank pulley key came loose and had destroyed the pulley.

So I called up Russ to see if he had a spare key and pulley. He didn't, but he knew a guy with a shop (Huy), who ended up having a spare FWD 4ag pulley and woodruff key from a Supra. So I met up with Russ, Huy, and Myko to get the key and pulley.

Back to the track with DD's crew pass to make sure they didn't need anything else. Marlow and I got so much free stuff as Moto P was cleaning out the trailer. Including some 14" tires, Tanabe naburi flags, posters, DVD's, and a few other things. Huy got a sign pair of KeiOffice gloves from Taka and Hiro.

Taka ended up qualifying in the top 16, but got knocked out in the 1st or 2nd round. Hiro went on to finish 3rd with a stock 20v (145whp). Those were the days. Last time I checked, Huy's pulley was still on Taka's 20v (full TODA kit motor putting down around 210whp at the time). Taka still has that motor somewhere.

My co-worker now owns those Watanabe's and has them on his S13. I only saw Nef drift once and it was impressive at the time.
