July 24th - Maryland Drift Showoff! - aftermath!

Post by jo »

Organization for this event needs to start ASAP to get hotels and other things in order. I know a lot of you can't bring your cars because they can't make the drive, or they aren't really running yet:) But, if we learned anything from drift show off miami, it's that we definitely need a crew to keep things running. We are still going to need the media team to take care of photos and video [we will take video this time!!!]. If it works out like last time everyone should be able to get in for free again as part of the media team or support crew. Those who want to come and be a part of the support crew and help take care of car things and changing tires, would be extra awesome. I am unsure if I am able to attend yet, but if I get off of work then I will have 4 doors of seating/gear/trunk room.

We do have the EZ-UP tent ready to rock, along with chairs, coolers, etc. We definitely learned from Miami and are going to be ready in full force. Speaking of which, I guess I'll go order the sandbags now. Eek. The sandbags won't come until after the event.

TenFour.

The tentative plan as of now, is departure from the Atlanta area on Friday morning & arrive in Maryland in approx 8-9 hours. I'm hoping to have more time this go-round to get settled at the hotel, and get some decent sleep in preparation for Saturday. Lack of sleep nearly killed me in Miami.

I have one open seat in the e46, because my 60/40's will be down with five spare rims w/ mounted tyres in cargo. There won't be much room in my car for anything. Maybe a can of soda and a rice crispie treat (j/k).

This event is Saturday ONLY... so we'll be heading back to the Atlanta area on Sunday.

I could NOT have lived through Miami without the help of Barry, Cody, Mike, and of course... nobody (BIG thanks again guys... for real). Realistically we could use a support vehicle (that will get in for free). I won't have room in my car for luggage or the tent. But, I know it's a long way up there, and most people won't want to drive. If anyone was planning on going up anyway... it would be great to rally up... so let us know!

Well, tonight we confirmed our support vehicle. A BIG BIG thanks goes out to my brother, who is going to let us rent his '97 Dodge Durango (a.k.a. the WARwagon) from him for the weekend.

Now we have plenty of space for rims/tyres, tents, etc.
Now, if we could only tow the e46 and save her the mileage, we'd be set!
Lol.

Hahaha!!!

I think that can be arranged! I'm going to take care of the hotel arrangements tomorrow morning. I wanted to wait and see what kind of numbers we might be bringing.

As of now, it's looking like about 4-5 people, including myself. So I'll look into a room with two big arsed beds... and we'll bring the AeroBed as well.

I think that can be arranged too!!
We should have plenty of room between the two cars to fit'r in there somewhere! The WARwagon is pretty stout on cargoSpace... so it shouldn't be a problem at all!
