i don't know if i want the can or the RS*R EXMAG... it's more of a sleeper look but HOLY FOOK it's expensive but it's no 850.... o well i have a few hrs to decide...
it looks like a Blitz Nur copy, but these days you don't know what the copy is and what the real thing is. If you can try to get the Greddy DD style Exhaust, I SO WANT ONE!
ok well thanks to nobody, JM is having second thoughts... i'm kinda impulsive can ya tell? anyways i think i'm going to wait, i have a exhaust system so i need to see how that works out... plus JM needs rims and a radiator... so.. yeah. anyways, thanks guys.. but for future notice... JM will either be gettin Blitz TT or RS*R EX MAG. both are sleeper and that makes JM happy. ::insert smile here::
I was reading the descriptions and I can't figure out why so cheap...
Maybe it's a lower grade SS eventhough it says T304 but that is a great price for a cat-back that looks a lot like most of the other pricier exhausts out there. I know it's on eBay but those exhausts are ALWAYS there so I wouldn't feel rushed if I were you.
Have you read any feedback on forums or such from other people with your car who have tried that route?
its the brand name that you pay extra for. Autochrome sells stuff really cheap and really good quality. There was a thread about the company over at Zilvia.net and lots of people love their products.
Well this is something I've been wondering about.... I mean a pipe is a pipe right? What is so much better about an hks pipe than another brand of pipe? I think the cat would definitely make a difference if you are using different name high flow cats, but I doubt HKS or apexi or anyone else like that makes their own high flow cat. .
As I'm looking for an exhaust system I'm beggining to wonder about this. Anyone with some insight? I would love to hear it!
very good point nobody. you can take that and talk about anything on aftermarket parts. Exhaust systems are very expensive, but whats the extra 200 bucks go into compare from the 280 to my HKS? Nothing really execpt for the logo on the end of it. Its the same material too. If I had a stock S13 exhaust I would so go for this one on ebay since I heard many good things about it. Only bad thing i heard is that its fuckin loud hehe, which is good or bad depending on the person and where they live *cough* cali *cough* hehe.
nobody u should get this for ur car, since this is a Blitz Nur style exhaust, it sounds fuckin awesome on the wrx. I was gonna get it when I was thinking about getting a 02 WRX last year.
nobody, here's what I've found as I've been looking for a replacement for mine.
Of course like dorifto said as in any retail business the companies with the more established name are allowed to ask more for their product because their product is in higher demand due to its popularity. The differences are often subtle but up to the cosumer to find. (things like whether or not it necks down to fit stock, or whether it includes the right bungs in the right spot) I'm not sure if HKS even offers a system with a cat (for our cars anyway) but I know that their Carbon Ti is a couple hundred more because it's made of titanium rather than SS and is a lot lighter. Of course it has a certain bling factor with the carbon wrap and that coupled with the fact that not many companies are able to produce titanium systems (higher demand) leads to one of the most expensive pipes on the market. For my up/downpipe I chose Helix which at $450 shipped for the combo is one of the cheapest options out there. Helix, however uses a thinner steel which is great for hearing your turbo but not as great for retaining heat like a good downpipe should. I think HKS actually makes the cheapest downpipe which is odd but I've read a lot of good reviews about it. (Seems they've poked a hole in my hypothesis ) Well I guess that's enough for the exhaust system market watch portion of our program. here's tom with the weather.
ps. huh huh, I said "bung."
pss. f*%! cats
edit: ok I wanted to make a correction to my previous blabbering here. I just found out that only the tip of the Carbon-Ti exhaust is Titanium. Just thought I would ammend so when the people of the future find this they won't think I was a post-modernistic idiot. have a nice day.

cue the happy world of testpipes haha. yeah charlie hit it right on the nose. When in doubt just research other people's review on it, which I know you have done for many years now =D.
as much as i typcially try to stay away from off-brands, i've actually heard some good stuff about that brand. 1 guy i know just has their muffler on custom 3" piping and it's pretty nice, and i believe erik's DG trials S13 has that one on his car and i think it sounded alright too. only thing i don't like too much is that the tip is overly long and looks kinda silly.
also, for the record, real apex'i N1's are going for like $430 at places like enjukuracing.com if you'd prefer a slightly more reputable brand.
good luck with the decision though!
