I will leave it open for the time being... the second things get ugly... it's locked. SO BE NICE.
I feel like this is a good way to sum them up. Each type of motor has it's pro's and con's... and when you are modding cars - no matter what type of motor... you are more-or-less asking for trouble - especially if not done right.
It's almost like a PC/MAC debate. Both have their advantages... and disadvantages, and different people like them for different reasons.

Rotary craps out, not everyone can/will touch it.mat wrote:what do you mean by live with in general?
Parts can get expensive. (vs other types of cars)
Upgrades can be expensive. (vs other types of cars)
Not as popular as others so parts and crap can be hard to find and/or expensive. (vs other types of cars)
RX-7s and other rotary vehicles are nice, you will get looks and stuff but how much are you willing to spend? It is debated wheather or not you'll have to rebuild the motor every so often and wheather or not they're primadonnas... if you have cash, can afford downtime and know someone who is good with working on rotaries, there's nothing wrong with it.
I don't have a rotary cause I can't even afford to move out of my Grandma's basement, that's why I drive an old beat up 76 Ford LTD until I can find a job.
p.s. I really am unqualified to be answering these questions.

Rotaries crap out....pistons crap out.....there are plenty of parts for rotary, just need to know where to look like me.....and they're priced the same as pistons, you have your expensive rotary parts and your cheap just like pistons. I think it is all on personal preference, not oh they break down all the time. Cause everytime someone says a rotary breaks down, I can tell them a piston broke down. If your modding, things will break with any engine.
