AHAHAHA I have tried some people and its really hard because i am used to doing cars, guns, buildings then for some reason a person is a entire dif game lol, but maybe lol.P.Haire wrote:that kinda sounds naughty.

i believe me. I totally understand! It's like a huge difference. Well, I have met a girl that use to work at pixar for all the Shreks. and she said how important it is to not only show your skills in creating objects (cars, buildings), but VERY importantly is people, and animals, and then a naturalistic flow in animation. If you can make killer objects or people, but can't animate, then they don't care. Very strict on that. Also rendered, and lighting is a huge plus, but once u go to college, you can really choose to follow 3 main categories...building, rendering, lighting...oh and animation is key for all 3 of those. Well, hope that helped ya a little.carfreak16 wrote:LilAfrikan wrote:hey, if you're ever interested in doing a 3D person. You should do a 3D version of me.haha! I think that'd be sweet. I was thinking about ETSU (east Tennessee state university) its in johnson city tennessee. My computer teacher told me they had one of the top animation classes in the east coast, but he said that was acouple years ago so he is not for sure now. He also said he wasnt for sure on the pixar thing but he has heard there has been acouple students from etsu go to pixar. But i do agree animation is a big KEY because well hell its all animation bascially because well DUH its a movie lol so yea def, but like i said my computer is holding me back so much from doing wht i want. I have messed around with the animation and such but its almost impossible with my computer.

aww, well i know that alot of students from SCAD get hired to mayor companies like pixar. They do special recruiting from the Savannah campus last time i heard. but either way...your portfolio is all that matters. who cares what school u go to. if you have a good port, anyone will pick u up in a heartbeat. I really do think you should apply to several art schools with a portfolio, even if you want to stay localy...it's good to keep options open, esp if you can get a full ride. i'm so jealous!

AMD Single Core 3700 64 1.25 gig ram dual monitor. Oh also i forgot to mention my computer wont probably last much longer because it keeps shutting down from over heating cpu lol. Probably because of these renders. Also i forgot to mention if this art stuff doesnt work out, i am probably going to be a computer tech. In a comp this year i came in 1st out of the entire north east tn region for computer repair then had a chance to go to state but couldnt because of money issues. Then i was keeping my webpage up todate for my school then at the end of the yr i got a big plaque with my name on it for best computer repair.LilAfrikan wrote:oh what computer do u use?

Lol and yea there is one thing i cant do lol that is....................lol i will get back to you on that HAHAH, but yea i was thinking of getting a mac (chris's idea lol) but i would not be able to use my 3dmodeling program because they dont make it for a mac, but i plan on saving up and instead of using my money for my car put it towards a kickass computer. But all this seems like a dream because i am only 17 not even out of HS yet and i am getting comments like this from people older than me. It makes me feel like i have made something out of my life yet so short in life....kinda make since? LOLLilAfrikan wrote:wooooooooooooowwwwwww.... is there anything u can't do? Can you fly!
hehe i'm totally jealous! hehe
oh...so a pc. yea pc sucks...but i heard that animation...well like hudini, and maya, and jazz is mostly done on a pc, so i understand
Some advice from the old-man designer on the here... use your money towards the right computer... be it PC or MAC (in this case... sounds like PC).
You can always use your machine to help you make more money (to buy car parts). Having a better machine will ultimately help you make more, faster.
At least... that's my experience.

But seriously... if this is something you want to do... I say go for it. You've definitely got hella skill.

So i am doing some renders of some old rims and tires i have done and maybe start up a new project. Dont worry andy i multi-task like crazy so your bmw is not takin a backseat its just umm switching drivers for a lil bit lol.andysapp wrote:Some advice from the old-man designer on the here... use your money towards the right computer... be it PC or MAC (in this case... sounds like PC).
