Makes sense...cause he did ask me if I'd had anything to drink...

Shit...I should have told him about that Fanta...

that's also why he only gave you a ticket for 60mph under what you were actually doing.. you were sober and out at 230 am. he left you off easy. and cheap.

sympathy is not one of the qualities that you must have to be on the dM boards. what is expected is that you are indeed a rich bitch, and that you like poo

The ticket was for speeding in excess of 70 on an interstate. It said 126mph in a 70mph on the ticket...but I can appreciate being "rewarded" for being sober...lol.

And for the record, I wasn't looking for sympathy, and I wasn't pissed because I GOT the ticket. I was just in a bad mood when I wrote the post, because I got the ticket.

Charlie are you saying that you don't speed anywhere? I know if I was wanting to play on the hwy when I was a Supra guy we'd wait until after 1-2am to so that there was in fact less people out. We didn't want to involve people in our shenanigans. Of course you take the responsibility if you get busted for speeding or racing or whatever you were doing.

I never got pissed at the cops for giving me a speeding ticket. I deserved everyone that I got, because I should've had ALOT more.

Are you kidding Chad? There is a HUGE difference between the common speeding that everyone does and barrelling down the highway at a buck thirty. Regardless of how alert or adept you think you are, when you are driving that fast on the highway you are putting others at risk. Who cares about a fucking ticket? What about the guy just over the hill that's a little tired and didn't feel the need to get back into the right lane just yet? You want to fucking play then you do it on track day, not on public roads. It's not your choice whether or not you want to take responsibility for plowing into someone because you were being an idiot.

I know that there were a couple times out with the dMs back in the day when everyone gets caught up in the rush and starts driving all 'arcade style' on the highway and goofing off at 120+. I look back and regret it and I haven't done anything like that in a looong time. The "traffic sprinting" I saw back then (going as fast as the car is able through medium traffic) is probably the most ignorant driving that I've ever seen.

It's not at all about the ticket. It's about the arrogance of drivers who think it's their place to assume what is safe or not for others.

I wasn't endangering anyone. There were a total of 4 people on I565 on my way home, and every time I'd get near one, I'd slow down to about 85 and pass them on the farthest lane away from them (I565 being 4 lanes and in some cases 5 lanes wide). It's not like I was FLYING down a back road. It was well-lit, there were no cars going EITHER way, AND there's a concrete divider. Not to mention that I565 is pretty straight where I was doing it.

Regardless...it's not like I FLY, weaving in and out of traffic during rush hour or anything. I actually drive pretty sensibly and defensive during normal traffic situations. I was just trying to have a little fun when there was no one on the roads. Drive around Huntsfail for a week and you'll understand Charlie. I drove to Atlanta last weekend (granted I only went as far south as Buckhead) for a wedding, and I was COMPLETELY DELIGHTED with drivers in and around Atlanta. Drivers in Huntsfail, and I think POOP will agree, are complete and total fucking morons...

'Nuff said...

Hence the reason I'm trying to get rid of the Supra...

I'm pretty sure no one "condones" such activity, but some do participate. Track time will really help curb those needy feelings. It's a whole lot cheaper to spend a few hundred dollars a year having fun a the track than hauling ass on the street looking for cops and trying not to crash into innocent slow pokes!!

I've got a sweet speed governor installed at 109 mph. For free courtesy of Ford!

I would be stoked that I wasn't going to jail. I've run from the cops (campus cops, not real cops) just once and it was a terrible decision and if it had been real cops, it would've been tons worse.

2:30 am, when do bars close in Huntsfail? It's 2 am in South Carolina, so 2 to 3 am is prime drunk driving time.
