I swapped out my crappy OEM [read: broken] endlinks for the awesome bomb diggity perrin ones. Yes they finally came! Perrin sent a new set. My sway bar had initially been installed improperly I found out by comparing the perrin photo instructions. I think that this might actually be a product of the OEM vs. Perrin endlinks, and not really an installation issue-- although SOG did tell me that it was wrong before. The suspension is a bit different from the WRX and it goes above the bars from the dif, instead of under them. It was basically put in like for a wrx, not for the sti. An easy mistake to make, although I do think it's the endlink type difference. I looked under John's car [Silent23] and it was totally different under there. Crazy. The endlink swap ended up taking longer than expected because I had to remove the charcoal box and bushings and reposition the swaybar over the dif bars [ok I don't know what these are really called, sorry! but they are like rods that go to the dif or something].
Anyhow here's photos. I love the snapped OEM one. That is out of control. My car doesn't make that awful clunk anymore [if you've been in my car you know the sound], and rides better. I stiffened up the rear bar to medium [24mm] as well, so now I run 27mm up front and 24mm in the back. At dday3 I'm going to put the rear all the way to 26mm and see how that goes.
oh and one more of the roll call because it's so bad ass!
ok this isn't my car but it kind of gives an idea....
My sway bar hung below that bar before, instead of up above it.
