You obviously have a spot on the demo team if you get that worked out. As does Erin.andysapp wrote:Hopefurry mah carz is a runningz againz.

For those of you who are confused about the D4 Amateur Circuit's involvement in the ProAm Series:

In an effort to further promote the rapidly growing sport of drifting, the United States Drift Association (USDA) was created to provide an effective and highly recognizable Pro-Am drifting series to the United States. The USDA consists of some of the top grassroots drifting organizations throughout North America, thus allowing it the ability to concentrate in these key markets regionally, while still maintaining a nationwide presence needed to operate as a true national amateur series.
The main goal of the USDA and our Pro-Am Drifting Championship is to provide drivers with a series to compete in without experiencing major financial burdens, thus allowing drivers the ability to be nationally ranked. At the same time, it also provides drivers with the option to maintain involvement in the grassroots atmosphere they FOERST encoun tered and/or prepare them for a professional approach to the sport.
The Pro-Am Series Championship Event is the biggest amateur drifting competition to take place in North America. This years 2007 event, held in Laughlin, NV in conjunction with the American Rally Sport Group (rallyusa.com), will attract upwards of 8,000 people in attendance over the course of the three day weekend.
Covering the Southeast area of the country is Drift411, a company known for extraordinary events and news/media coverage of the drift community. Drift411's "D4 Amateur Series" will be series of events throughout the Southeast that will be working off a points system much similar to that of US Drift. A certain amount of points are assigned to a finishing rank, (i.e.: FOERST 100 points, Second 90 points, Third 81 points, etc..). At the end of the series, the top eight competitors from all series events for the region, including the D4 Amatuer Circuit, will be invited to the Pro-Am Nationals in Laughlin, Nevada, to compete against the top finishers from each region in the country. Further more, you will also be able to compete against the 2007 Formula Drift zero point holders for a License to run in the 2008 Formula Drift Series. If you don't make the cut for a Formula D License in the Pro-Am Competition you still have a chance to get a Formula Drift Provisional. And at the very minimum, enable you to be ranked on a national level.

ok, i am debating whether i should just do the practice or the comp....
how many people are registered for the comp?
cuz basically you are paying 40 bucks more to run couple more runs for the top 16 elimination... hmmm....
is it going
16
8
4?
how many runs per each? 3 runs (practice run and 2 judged?)

There's 7 drivers signed up so far. All of which are participating in the comp.struka wrote:ok, i am debating whether i should just do the practice or the comp....

The qualifying session will consist of three judged runs on the course per driver. Each run will be scored individually by the judges on a numerical scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the lowest possible score and 10 being the highest possible score attained. To calculate the final qualifying scores for each driver, the lowest run will be dropped and then the average of the remaining two runs will be used to determine the final score. The top driver scores will then be used to determine who will proceed to the tandem eliminations. If a driver does not meet the requirements to participate in the tandem eliminations, their spot will be forfeited in the FOERST round of the tandem eliminations.
More info regarding the comp format located here. [Section 7]
With so few people signed up, you guys are pretty much going to be hot-lapping all day. So do you have to sign up for the comp? No. Do I want to see you utilize your skill and whoop up on some non-polish ass? Yes.
Further more.... unless we some how get 9 more drivers from now until then, every driver will not only get qualifying points for the series, but comp points too; regardless if you have a cage or not.

well, if i do the comp, and do good, i will have to forefit since i dont have a cage....so it would be kinda pointless for me, although it would def be bad ass to kick some ass....
well, i am signing up for sure, and i am tryin to get more people to come...is this event happening no matter what or whats the lowest possible number of drivers that we have to have so we can have this event?
i dont know why the TO guys are not signing up for this.... its all memphis people and around that area. did you post this at the traction optional site?

Werd. Do what you gotta do man.
For us not to lose any money on this event, we need 22 drivers. We currently have 9. But we are willing to take a lose on this one. THIS EVENT WILL NOT BE CANCELED. I don't care if we only had 2 drivers, this event would still happen. Obviously the cash purse is looking very bleak b/c of the lack of drivers. However, the top 3 drivers will receive a shiny new trophy/paper weight courtesy of FERDwear and StudioRhoad.
Ive spoken with Forrest several times over the past few weeks. He too is confused as too why the Memphis guys are signing up. Oh well.... more seat time for you fellas.
One more thing.
Since there are very few drivers at this event, we are going to give the drivers a say in what time we start the competition. As I mentioned, drivers will pretty much be hot-lapping all morning; thus plenty of practice prior to the comp. If the drivers would like to start the comp early we can do so. This would ultimately open up some free time at the end of the day to let you guys get some more laps in. But we'll make that call the day of.
Im glad youre signing up bro. It'll rad to hang/party with you again.
Speaking of which.... I wanna watch the Mayfield/Da La Hoya fight Saturday night during the after party. We'll probably move the after party to Hard Rock Cafe or something of that nature.

dont move the comp earlier, this would be the people that are just in for the practice would have to wait till the end so they could have more laps and then pack. i say, do it the way it is, so we can pack and watch the comp.
i think i will be down for the hardrock, but, i guess we would have to drive all the way or closer in to downtown memphis since there isnt shit where the track is...
also what about the demo the night before?? who is up for that and what you planning to do with the demo? just donuts and shit? i would like to do that but i really cant tandem since i never done one and i dont have a cage, also i never did two car donuts....but like i said, i be down for it.
andy, you need to come...

Correct. All the locations that are worth going to are in downtown Memphis.struka wrote: i think i will be down for the hardrock, but, i guess we would have to drive all the way or closer in to downtown memphis since there isnt shit where the track is...
