Cordele?!?!?! My outlaws used to live down there. It's in the middle of fucking nowhere! Why in the hell would they have an event down there? Oh wait, I see, SCCA. It all makes sense now.

It is being held in cordele for 2 reasons, number one, its the Middle Georgia Region of the SCCA that is holding the event, the other was because it was closer to florida and alot cheaper than renting AMS. I dont know what that last line is supposed to mean, but the SCCA is doing alot to help the sport of drifting by giving us this chance

Cordele is the site of 4 drift events this year, also, thinkin about having a party on the lake on the Saturday Night before it, it will be a fun weekend.

If the local region is holding the event it makes more sense. However, to answer your question on my comment in regards to the SCCA. I was a member for years and was involved in club racing for years as well. In that time I watched the SCCA completely screw up everything they touched. I also watched them turn into an organization that is there for two things, making money and being a personal playground for all of the rich doctors and lawyers that are involved in the organization. It is nothing but political BS. If you run a car that is not run by someone on the compboard or someone who is friends with somepne on the comp board, you are screwed. They totally destroyed the once premier series of Trans Am and almost killed road racing in the US. I am really happy for you that you have an event local to Macon. If I lived there I would want one too. But if you think the SCCA is doing this for you and not for the sole purpose of making money by jumping on the newest motorsports bandwagon, I would have to strongly disagree.

thats what happened, u are judging us on the "Club Racing" ...lol, no our region is very small, and most members are younger, totally different from the "Club Racing" scene, it is the local region, and i am the one incharge of the Drift Committee for the National office. Trust me, the Club Racing guys had a fit when they found out we were doing this, but they will get over it.

Drift411 will be handling the Judging, I am handling event management, and we have an entertainment committee for a possible pre party on saturday night on the lake, and fun at the event, Tech will not be that extensive, very similar to DF events or any other D411 event

I dont have any cash payouts right now, but if we sell all 50 spots, i may beable to at least give the winner something. Since watermelons seem to be a big plus, ill give the winner a watermelon too :D, also there will be trophys and a podium finish.

I really hope you guys come down for this, we need the support, me and my roomate are the only 2 competition drifters i know in central ga, we hope to bring it more to the eye to our local crowd.

Just a little background on our Region of the SCCA, over half the officers in the club, are involved with Cool Cat Racing, and are very much into drifting, and the newer stuff, we have one club racer that is active and he is just as wild as us ..lol, we are a young club, but we are experienced in throwing events

The SCCA is not new to drifting overall, we sanction Formula Drift, we are just now getting into the Club level drifting, and trust me SCCA Drift will not be run anything like "Club Racing" you have my word on that.

I really hope you guys come out, i have nothing but mad respect for dM and all its members, u guys are awesome, i would love it if u guys would come show my local crowd what drifting is all about :D

I wasn't "judging" you. But, you have to understand that when I hear SCCA, I think bad things. Like I said, I am happy for you that you will have a close to home event. I am not trying to be critical of you or your local members at all. And if people like you can change the way the SCCA is run, I will be the FOERST to shake your hand. That was at one time a fantastic organization and it has the potential to be once again. I seriously hope you have a succesful event!
