Sr issues

Post by Loki_LaVey6 »

Well I got the sr running and all that good mess. I am just having a real richness problem. I have tried a lot of different trouble shooting problems like new plugs, a Nismo adjustable fuel pressure regulator set to 36 psi at idle. I have trouble shot the MAF and it was supposed to put out .8 10 1.5 volts at idle and it was putting out 1.75 volts. I have also looked at the TPS and it showed good. I just don’t know what else to try. I have tried different websites like Nicoclub.com and 240.org I was just wondering if anyone on here had this kind of problem or know were I could find some more answers.

Also I think the turbo is going bad as well so if you know of a good place to get that rebuilt let me know that too.

O yeah it is an S14 Sr.

Stock MAF that came with the SR and I tried the one for the KA both did the same thing.

Had it wired by a guy in New York, that has done it before. But you never know.

It will runreallyt rich about a .96 on the O2 up to 5000 and it cuts off like a limiter, but it isnt the 5th gear limiter.

and no tipe of piggy back or afc yet.

i would check your o2 sensor wiring and your maf wiring to be sure. other than that i am going to have to think of anything else.

u also might want to check ur temp sensor if you have an irregular idle. i think thats one of the things wrong on mine.

Yep done that too. Checked the resistance on that and it was good but I replaced it just incase. No change on the engine.

Thanks though.

Is the car idleing high or irratically?

Was it reading the same output voltage with both the SR and KA MAF? (maybe one is bad and isnt helping a situation)

Has it been doing this since you FOERST got it up and running? (possibly the wrong injector(s))

Have you checked tthe plugs to make sure one of them isnt fuel soaked? (possible stuck injector or a bad coil pack)

Is the TPS adjusted properly?

Have you pressure tested the intercooler set up?

ehh.. thats all I can think of for now.. we will see where that puts us.

MAN were do I start..

Well I put a potintiometer on the maf and got the voltage were it should be and it runs perfect. The A/F is right were it should be. I know this just covers up the problem but it was the only soliuting I could find to get the car on the street and get it drivable untill I can find a solution.

I tried all of the other stuff mentioned and none of it worked. The MAF from the KA and the SR did the some thing so I am not really sure about that one.

O'yeah and the turbo started to make sum funky noises so I just had to replace that as well.

This car is begining to become so much FUN!!!
