New to me car!

Post by Kouki7 »

Well I bought a 1987 Nissan 200sx, its the S12 chassis. It's still before they went to FWD, with a 5spd, and a very gutless 2.0L CA20E engine. Its a decent little car and I got it for a great price. Payed 500 bucks for it and put another 300 into repairs and now its solid. So for 800 bucks I have a good daily driver that should last me until I have the money for something nicer/newer.

I'll post pics up later this week, probably this weekend would be the soonest I can get them up.

like Matts13 said, the S12 was the same in Canada, USA, Japan, Europe, and Australia. it was just called different things depending on country. its a nice little car, just VERY under powered. its only rated at 105hp stock but i'd say mine probably has a mighty 80hp tops.

the rings aren't sealing properly and its got over 220,xxxkms on it right now but hell its 20 years old and is fun to drive!

nope, i'm resisting the urge to mod this car. its strictly to get me from point A to point B. this car needs way to much work to get it to good drifting standards safety wise.

Rawk! Those cars are cool. A friend of mine in Florida built one for drift. Full cage and everything. He actually ripped it quite well. His name is Sean Love.

very nice, he has S14 front suspention components with S14 coilovers and a foxbody mustang shocks out back. makes the car look dick!

with the S12's, there's almost no aftermarket so you have to make stuff work. thats one reason i'm not modding this car and just going to drive it. Its a nice car and all but I don't think i'll have the same enjoyment out of this car as i'll get out of something else.
