Re: Tennessee Drift Oct. 16th NSS road course
the biggest thing I saw at Import Alliance was the terrible use of time. the event would have been 100x better if they had just made better use of track time. cars were often waiting until the previous car had completely retuned to grid which at NSS takes several minutes. I think if the grid flows well it will be fine. the course is a lot of fun so I don't mind putting up with some little annoyances.

yeah, i think the event will be ok if the drivers stay on top of stuff.
i don't know if there will be tons of drivers. marlow can tell you how many drivers were at the last event.

mah, ive been 3 times to nss i dont think i could attend a half-assed event. sitting in my car at the starting grid, knowing theres nothing stopping me except some moron not paying attention, pisses me off. i guess ill just hold off until dM or SED, or maybe even TO, hold an event there. maybe a collaborative event should be arranged ha! we can put a 'x' in between our names, and call it 'collab'.

Re: Tennessee Drift Oct. 16th NSS road course
Yeah the event at the fairgrounds barely had any cars, at one point i was hot lapping for almost an hour. At import alliance there was a lot of time wasted just sitting in the line waiting to go. The guy that was starting the cars was more concerned about getting the people that paid for ride alongs a ride. There were times that he could of let cars go and they were just staring at him. That was the only thing that was driving me crazy at IA. Hopefully they will have run groups and concentrate on getting the drivers the most time on the track and least time waiting in line. But then again there will probably be spectators who will pay for ride alongs again

Well, maybe you and Patrick should talk to these guys when you're there and tell them how much time with the drift community and how you guy have to been helping out since 2004, so you have a bit more experience than they do and that by changing a few small details they can have a great event that runs smoothly and will make people want to come back every time.
Tell to send a car after they've cleared the FOERST turn
And that ride-a-longs are responsible for finding their own rides. Thats to much to ask for the starter to be getting the rider in the cars and sending cars at the same time. Thats just ghey. I'd be pissed if the starter is shoving a rider in a car at the last moment and I can't go anywhere until the rider is all buckled up and that car goes. Then I gotta have the same dude asking me if I'll take a rider. Fuck That! I'd say no just because it's holding everyone else up because that rider didn't ask to ride with me when I was 6 cars back so they could be buckled in and ready to go when we got to the line.

Re: Tennessee Drift Oct. 16th NSS road course
Just a heads up for everybody me and barry have discussed all the small things that we could have improved on after IA. we agreed that after 25 cars register we will divide everybody into run groups. and also we will send cars when the 1st car enter the 2nd turn in the morning and start sending them sooner threw out the day if possible. IA was our 1st event on that venue we learned alot. This event will have alot less waisted time due to the IA not having to give the wrist bands and then the tech sheets and all of that. you'll get it all at the gate. a ton of time was waisted trying to get that figured out. If you want to make the morning run smoothly get there early and be ready. come in i'll tech your cars on pit road and then we will have drivers meeting. then the tandem run group will start right after. trust me guys come out and have a good time. no sense in missing out on track time. it will be a good event come out and let gets ROWDY!
