Yup yup!

Almost dumped the contents of the gas tank on the garage floor last night. Went to replace the petcock and remembered as I was loosening the second bolt that I hadn't yet drained the tank! A quick backtrack later and the deed is done.

Fo sho! Up next is going through and (possibly) replacing the side covers (I kinda like how it looks without them) and getting the front and rear fenders off to get re-chromed. Also found a guy with the OEM battery tiedowns for $6 a pop so I'm going to call the local kawa dealer and see what their pricing is and if they're in stock to save me some waiting time. It looks like the part is pretty much the same on all of their bikes but the one from the ZX-6R apparently fits best. We'll find out.

Also ordered a helmet so that should be here sometime next week. Went with a more classic looking Arai open face so that I can replicate Goose's helmet in Mad Max. Found a supplier in Japan that makes decent repros of the chin guard so I've got my buddy ordering one for me and shipping it stateside. Now I just need to get new contacts and find my aviators and the looks will be complete

PS the repro face pieces are junk, I think they are fiberglass too which I wouldnt want near my face in case of a wreck. Just sayin. You can find the original ones online if you look hard enough, just have to know what to look for...

Well, the original ones were basically PVC which is just as likely to shatter in a collision as FRP.

You find me an original face fender and I'll give you a $20 finder's fee.

Ordered one of the jap ones anyway. From the pics my buddy took of it, it looks like it's actually ABS instead of FRP. I'll know for sure when it gets here next week.

Also, bar ends put on. I can sees behind meh now!
