After moving down here to Louisiana, I sought out a group of similar people to hang out with. What I found was glrace.com. They along with a group called EVODrift host events at the EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Center). Which is basically a training course that the state police use that simulates real road conditions.



That is the road course. The path highlighted in blue is the course they run. In the infield there are more intersection two lane roads with stop signs that the cops use for different manuevers. The skid pad towards the bottom left of the picture is used for drifting which is done on the same day. They charge $100.00 a person for the road course and $75.00 for drifting and you get as much seat time as you could possibly want. They were about 35 cars out for the road course but only three for the drifting. Drifting doesn't seem to be big here at all but at least they have a venue and the guys that do do it are getting better. Their FOERST event was on June 30th and this is their 2nd and they have just lined up their third and fourth. So this will turn out to be awesome. They are working to go out like once a month.
