Thats weird I just read a little about that system on Turbobrick.com. http://www.turbobricks.org/feature.php? ... =winter_04 This guy is using it. Never heard of it before but I am sure with work you could get it to work properly on your car.

I've heard a lot about the megasquirt project, and that they have something coming out really soon which is going to control ignition and... crap... I forget what else. But yeah. look at their other projects as well.
There are some downsides to the megasquirt setup, mainly that it's a DIY orientated system, the upsides are the cheap nature of it, and the infinate tunability.

# Name: Mercury
# Vehicle: 1986 MR2
# Engine:1.6 litre 4agte/Garret T3 EDIS ignition
# Injection: MegaSquirt v 2.2
# Description: I finished up a couple of last minute things and am now proud to say my 86 MR2 4agte is now a daily driver. I am now driving it back and forth to work. I am mostly doing this so I can get data logs to get the VE map tuned in better. Boost response is great. It spools almost immediately. It starts building boost around 2000 rpm and I get about 12 psi at 4000 rpm at 1/4 throttle. I'm going to take it easy on it until I have my wide band in and a few more data logs. It runs good even with only 10 degrees of total advance. Even at part throttle and 12psi it throws you back in the seat. As soon as I can get a MJL I can get the ignition tuned in as well. Thanks to Bruce and Al as well as everyone one the list I have a low cost high fun car.

Shit! I WANT THAT SETUP in my AE86.

You can get a microtech fuel only system for 600 dollars, just get the LT4
it uses a laptop to program, not a hand held.

I don't know i think i will just hold on to the f-con and the e-manage, they both worked for me in the past and 450 is more than enough to drift with as far as power goes.

My drivabilty is superb, builds full boost by 2500rpm. Makes 200lbs, 230whp at the wheels at 6psi. Lag is pretty much none exsistant.

450hp in what? That should be plenty of power to drift. I would like to see some dyno runs of that.

Couldn't you just use Greddy Emanage? Its a name brand, Ive never heard anything bad about it and you can get it for like $300.

Just my .02

my friend is using it on his 20v 4a-ge powered corolla. it's a good system if you have the means to install and tune it. his car is drifted, beat on, and spins out 9000rpm on ITBs all day with no problems.

4ag's are freakin' invincible... not really but they can take quite the beating! a lot of the 4AG guys use the megasquirt, especially when they switch to ITB's... thats what I am aiming at, when i pick it up and slap it on i will let you guys know how it works!
