Differential shattered.

I opened up the differential proper today, to find that...
1) the clutchpacks are... well not clutchanythings anymore.
2) the friction plates are almost scored smooth. (should have swirls in 'em)
3) the RH clutch assist was somewhat... well. damaged.

and...
4) The pinion which holds the two spider gears opposite each other was BROKEN.
I'll post some pics later. Right now I'm cursing any deity that will listen and trying to find a place for a 550$ TRD 2-wayh, or an 800 dollar 2-way by KAAZ.

Oh, my poor budget.

Well I don't know much about all of those, but I do know that cusco tends to be pricey for what it is. I think if you can find the TRD one, go for it. But the Kaaz one is also pimp-- so I voted for that one.

It comes down to your budget, really...

holy crap i'm not helpful at all.

Im all for cusco. They invented the 1.5 way and allow you to change it from a 2 way to a 1.5 way. They offer a couple styles that change the engagement and feeling of the diff. I think they have done their homework. But Kaaz is a great diff too. I see no reason to spend the extra money on a cusco if you dont have it. I personally am looking to get a cusco but am in no hurry. When I roast my j30vlsd then it will be go-time.

toysport supposedly has the kaaz 2-way for 700 bucks. Unless I find something better soon, I'm gonna place that order tonight.
