well I talked to my Pops over the weekend about my car. The plan is that we are going to buy another engine at the end of the week

But it's another (damn) KA

Sucks, but atleast it'll get my car back on the road. Anyway, rather than paying one of my dad's mechaics (who suck! mindyou) $700 to drop in a stock motor I was hoping we could do it. Perhaps 3 or 4 of you would like to lend a hand and I would certain compensate you with beer and/or food; it's up to you. If all goes well, I'll buy the motor this coming weekend as mentioned and then pic it up either Sunday or Monday night. However, here inlies the problem. I'm also going to need two other people to drive back to SC to help drive cars. I would drive the 240, someone would drive the truck with the motor, and other person would get the privlege of the rocking out the Out Standing Honda (Prelude!). We would drive down and back up in one night which consist of about 7 hours of driving. shitty, I know. but that's the only choice that I have right now. Normally I would go down and back during a weekend but I'll be out of town for the next four consecutive week ends.

So, if any of you are up for it just let me know. I'll do everything I can to make it worth your time and effert. If not, I completely understand; but come back begging me for a ride in the Prelude cause its not going to happen
Hope you and your family had a Father's Day.

I will lend a hand with doing the swap! I don't really know anything about how to do it, but I would love to be given the chance to watch and learn as it's done. I'd definitely help out as much as I could.
My weekends are pretty slammed between moving and vacation for the next month, too, otherwise I'd offer to help you drive=/ Maybe if it was on a weeknight I could help, and then just go in to work for half a day in the afternoon the day after.

that would be awesome nobody. any help is greatly appreciated. And me and you will be in the same boat as far as the installation is concerned. This will be my FOERST time

*innoscent grin*
my dad swears up and down that his mechanics are the best, especially the one he was planning to install the KA. But I've delt with his mechanics a lot and every time they touch one of my cars they F it up. So, I know we can do just as good, if not better, job than they can.

I'm guessing it won't be too hard since it's KA to KA. Or at least I hope! My friend Zak has done a few engine swaps [never on a 240 though] so he may be able to give us some help if we really need it. I'm sure we can pull enough resources together to get it taken care of.

I agree. It should be pretty simple. My only concerns would be proper wire labeling and making sure the seals are ok. stuff like that.

I can help with the install, but not the drive. I have to be at work at 3am on Monday.

oh man!! you guys rock! I'm going to buy all of you the biggest bottle of Fanta I can possibly find!
*the drive isn't really that big of a deal. I can probably get some friends in SC to help me out with that. I'll figure it out.

I'm down to help however I can!
I dunno if I can help on the drive either...
weekends are pretty slammed right now.
Hooman and I were talking about attempting the motor swap on the Hachi by ourselves. He brought up that wiring is the hardest part. At least your swap is KA to KA... so it shouldn't be too difficult. Then again, I have a whopping zero motor swaps under my belt.
Let me know how I can help, aiiight?
Holla.

update:
well, I didn't get the engine this weekend

. However, I have good news. My dad found a KA with 52K miles on it for only $800!!! So, I'll save up a little more money and get it this coming weekend.
And with only 52K miles, I think I'm going to rock out the KA for awhile and focus more on suspension. But an SR is still in the plans....just not as soon as I was hoping.
