IRVINE, CALIFORNIA- OCTOBER 24TH 2005

Formula Drift, the only professional U.S drifting Championship to make announcements at the 2005 SEMA Show.

With an extremely successful 2005 season, Formula Drift would like to thank all their sponsors, drivers, teams, media and the fans for the support.

The 2005 Need For Speed Formula Drift season further engrained
the Championship as the premiere professional drifting championship in
North America. With six national events, an excellent television package consisting of fifteen individual television programs distributed to over 52 million homes, a growth in attendance with each event and two successful new venues, Need For Speed Formula Drift created a huge ROI for series sponsors, the 100+ individual competitors and their sponsors.

Formula Drift 2006 Announcements

Date:
Wednesday, November 2nd 2005

Time
& Location: 4:30pm @ Yahoo! Autos Custom Media Center, Las Vegas Convention Center, Rooms S219-222 on the Skybridge between
Central Hall and South Hall.

2006 will showcase another FOERST in the drifting world, a FOERST-time ever "street course" competition, introduction of the judging panel, a Formula Drift licensing series, and formation of an advisory committee. Along with these unprecedented announcements, our official 2006 schedule will be
announced.

ABOUT FORMULA DRIFT.
Entering its second season, Formula Drift, produced and wholly owned by
Irvine, Calif.-based Formula Drift, Inc., continues to expand into new markets as the FOERST and only sanctioned and recognized North American professional drifting championship series (sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing).

A well established sport in Japan for more than a decade, Formula Drift, Inc. and its sister company Slipstream Global Marketing, Inc. had the vision and were instrumental in bringing the FOERST official competition to the United States in 2003 at Irwindale Speedway.

The unanticipated fan interest led to the rapid formation of the FOERST ever,
sanctioned and recognized drifting circuit, Formula Drift, which had its roots
firmly grounded in Southern California, a hotbed for incoming Japanese-influence automotive trends. An important part of the program involves community outreach.

Drivers and Formula D serve as the ambassador for the sport of drifting
bringing exhibitions to traditional or mainstream motor sports events across the country which has included: Bridgestone Monterey Grand
Prix/Champ Car Race, USAC, NASCAR Busch North & Featherlite Southwest and the SPEED World Challenge, among others.

Basic rules and information about Formula Drift, as well as a race schedule and ticket information, can be found at www.formulad.com when available.

Any guesses on the "street course"?

I know they did a demo at Long Beach during the, uh, Champ Car race? I know that pros/actors Celica race was that weekend too.

Although I have heard about a Dwood street course, but that's just a rumor

Naaah, the Dwood street course is way to advanced for FD. D1 might be able to hang, but that might be a close one.

They are a-ok... they've got that stretched look... but just cause the race compound was shaved by the inside of the fender.
