This is a well-deserved (OMG I hate this phrase) "shout-out" for Airborne Motorsports!

I can definitely vouch for this awesome local vendor. It was probably the most fun I've ever had paying someone else to do an install. Sometimes it's so nerveracking having someone else work on your car. I bought the throwback Mario Bros. for my gameboy to play in case I got bored (since it's a four hour install) but I ended up talking/hanging out/learning the whole time! Eric did the install. I was a little nervous when he butchered my heat shield with some tin snips but then he spent the next half hour tediously grinding and hammering it to make it look right. A lot of shops wouldn't have even bothered putting it back on. We even found out that my car had one of those ghetto ass Home Depot MBC's on it and promptly discarded it, but if anybody has a fishtank in need of some parts, get at me!

Eric really went out of his way to help me. He cleaned and re-oiled my air filter just for shits and giggles. Once we reset the ECU, he performed the magical 5-minute learning curve trick and we took it for a test drive...

HOLY SHIT!!!

Just revving it a little and hearing the turbo which is now very audible put a big grin on my face, which hasn't seemed to go away yet. But it seems to pull a LOT harder. I'm not sure how bad the Depot special was leaking but everything feels a lot better now. Idle is smoother, power comes a little sooner (full boost @ 2900) and stays a little later. I couldn't be happier, but then again, I'll probably be calling Cobb Tuning some time this week, so....

Eric and the guys at Airborne know their shit. They even designed and produce their own coilovers, exhausts, and pulleys (and who knows what else) So I just thought that I would take a minute to share my experience and give them their proppas.

you're WRX sounded 3vil as alll hell!!!

Sounds like that boxer's gonna leap outta the hood and throw you out of the driver seat for weight reduc. Sounds really good. I can't wait to take a ride and f33l the powerrr!!!

I'm glad everything worked out with the install. I know what you mean about letting other peeps work on yerGirl. Sounds like you ended up in the right place though.

Are you shooting flames yet???

ummm, i wouldn't go making that assumption. i'll bet my 7 coulda beat your STi when it was running. 260rwhp in a light car is faster then 300awhp in a heavy car.

The STi only weighs 3100 pounds! Mine was up on the scale the other day. That's not that heavy! Plus each "horse" power and pound foot of torque only has to push 10.1 pounds of car.

I'd nail you on the launch anyhow...nothing like a scooby launching!

That's awesome you were shooting flames Roy! What do you have on there as far as exhaust goes? I'm really searching for what to get right now.

thats true but i'm about 300lbs lighter then you and my top end is crazy.

lemme just say that my friend with a 97 Eclipse GSX thats runs 12.9 in the 1/4 lost by 2 cars to me.

umm, you do know the FC is one of the best handling cars of its time right? my car isn't just straight line fast since i'm not big on that. its pretty much set up as an auto-x/drift car.

got ya.

i don't doubt that STi's are fast and handle well but i do have a few more things done then nobody does on her STi and thats why i believe my car is quicker. once she adds the exhaust, intake, sway bars, etc... she'll eat my car alive.

all im running is the perrin catless dp right now. i think when i switch over to high boost my ECU overcompensates and richens up the AFR alot and boom!, fire out the exhaust. im hoping to have the exhaust finished out before this thursday
