[Sounding] Testing the waters for new online store...

Post by AE111 »

As most of you who knew me (Cody, Chris, Barry, Michael, Chad, Rox, etc.), when I still lived in Atlanta, I returned home to Indonesia at about this time last year. It's been an interesting year (to say the least!), and I've spent most of it working on building up two family companies and creating a network of suppliers from our clients.

Here's the thing: I'm creating an online store as a spinoff project from these two companies. I'll mostly be selling bulk and hard-to-find items from my suppliers here in Indonesia. Although it'll be a good month or so before the website will be up, I'll be testing the waters here and on a couple of other forums to see what the market would like to see being sold on the website.

[1] Apparel, including hats and jackets: These will be available in sets of 10-15. What's the big deal? Well, I can get any type of logo, in multiple colours, embroidered onto said apparel. Would a dM or "Drifting is Not a Crime" hat/jacket be of interest to you all? If someone would supply me a high-quality pic of a logo of interest to the whole board, I could get one item run off just as a showcase.

[2] Car parts, mostly exterior, including headlights and emblems: These are JDM version items, so far I've only been able to find a few Nissan parts. Lots of Toyota stuff though!

[3] Wheels/rims: Used, but people here take care of their rims like gold. However, there are a lot more Euro brands than JDM, but I'm still looking around.

Okay, guys, that's the deal, let me know what kind of things you'd like to see (perhaps a list?), and I should be able to post some pics by next week of some of the stuff I've already got in. Thanks!

mmm...this sounds very interesting and promising. I wish you the absolute best of luck in your new adventure.

but I am personally very interested in some dM appearal. dM jackets would rawk! And seeing as how Andy is always having dM shirts made, I wouldn't be surprised if he was interested in this as well.

What about a DM "members only jacket" like from the 80's. that would be cool.

Good to hear from you! I would love to see some good wheels for a good price that would actually fit my car.

Some DM gear would be sweet too...

Thanks for the quick responses, guys! I'd like permission from whoever owns the logos and stuff to go ahead and run some one-off showcase dM gear. Would that be Andy Sapp, or would any of the mods be able to gimme the go ahead?

Chris: I told you what I was gonna do, it just took some time to get everything set up! Thanks for the support!

Cody: I'm trying to source some S15 headlights, but I've got a JDM Nissan emblem that I think you'd love: "Highway Star" off the 2004+ Nissan Serena. Isn't that just so Initial D???!!!

Rox: Lots of JDM wheels here, you looking for more 16s or do you wanna step up to some larger wheels? Do you have the JDM 5x114 PCD or are you still running the USDM 4-bolt pattern?

SWGolf: That could be arranged! Get me the design!

EVERYBODY: Here's some tentative pricing, $20-$25 shipped for hats, and $50-$75 for jackets depending on the material. I can also do leather and even helmets for pretty cheap!

Okay, just an update, I persuaded my suppliers to let me run some one-offs, so here are a few ideas:

* Silvia S15 thunderbolt
* Silvia script, old-style
* Silvia S hood emblem (in green or red)

CODY: Let me get you a pic and a price for the "Highway Star" emblem.

SWGOLF: How about I run off a "DRIFTING IS NOT A CRIME" jacket and see what you think? Leather or nylon?
