Post by andysapp »

Coming in at #10:
They just raised the price of these tyres to $190/tyre (from $160).

AND!
(drum roll please...)
the NUMBER ONE REASON Yokohama AVS ES100s suck IS:

This set lasted a whopping four months! My set of ES100's prior to that: three months!

It's a good thing they're discontinue'ng these tyres.
:)

Oooh, BTW... I have not re-purchased these Yokos.

HOLY SHIT! It didn't look nearly as bad when we were looking at them last night with a flashlight. Man those tires are a badge of honor. You should have saved them!

Falken all the way baby! Although I'm glad I got hooked up with two stock potenzas today :D

Rule # 306: DRIFTING IS HARMFUL TO TYRES and reduces the lifespan of said subject by a ton.

Im lucky ive almost gotten a year out of my shitty tyres. I have to get Kuhmho MX's though cause the 225 azenis rub on my kiar.

Lol... that much I knew... then again, I'm a guy who thinks powerslides and donuts are drifting.

toyo fz4

Post by Drift_Supra »

I used to have the toyo fz4's on my avenger long ago in a 225/35/18. Those tires have relatively less grip than other comparable z rated tires. honestly, they grip like h rated tires :-P. (yeah, I know that the letter rating isn't for grip, but the quality of the tire does play a significant role in grip.). if you normally drift on z rated tires and you want to try these out, I wouldn't put these on the front! put these on the back and start drifting slower than you rnormally do..........or else you could end up facing the way you came :-P.
........powersliding and doing a donut ISN'T drifting!

I have a pair of FZ4's that I got pretty cheap wrapped around some konig rims. I originally intended for them to go on the corolla (as they are too small for the accord), but a flat caused me to put them on the accord... And they are LOUD. I mean shit. those things have a dull roar of the road.
*sings* my corolla breaks down more than your corolla!

Haha... I retract my previous statement that the ES100's suck.

After this weekend in Miami... and having a chance to really test out my new tyres... I've concluded that the ES100's DON'T SUCK. They just melt faster than most tyre.

If Yoko would drop the price on'm... seeing as they're stopping production... I'd by me a couple.
