AIRPORT DRIFT 6/18/2011

It's official. We got the final sign off by the Mayor to hold the Airport Drift Event

Many details of the event are still being worked out but it will happen.
We will be using the Runway (1 mile), the Taxiway (1 mile) and the parking area for drift and gymkhana courses. We will be pitting in the Hangar areas. Great photo ops with the airplanes and cars.
There will be radio and TV promotion of the event and live coverage too. We will have some different type runs during the day to break up the show.
Drag racing
zero to 100mph to zero competition. Speed Radar verified!

Amateur figure 8 competition
A car show, American and Import.
Wheel changing competition
Highest speed on the runway competition
and several other comp's under consideration ( open to suggestions).
and an After-party in the town square that night.
We are pulling a block party permit to allow public drinking. Food and beverages will be available. Hotels are only 2 miles away. We will have a drunk shuttle
( passengers not the shuttle driver) for those that over indulge.
We are expecting attendance to be in the 3 to 5000 range.
I have a lot of the city people, chamber of commerce, county tourism board, airport and even the mayor helping on this. It has already been in the planning stages since November of last year.
