Yeah man! That's funny... I bumped into him Xmas shopping at MoG with Lieze. I couldn't place where I knew him from. I said... "I know you"... and he said "yeah... do you ride bikes", and I said yes... then he said "you have a BMW"... and I said "BOBBY THRASH!" hahaha. Afterward I seriously thought he mean motorcycles, not bicycles - so I'm glad to know I was right when I answered yes.

You think that'll work? The bolt head is 17... you need to know the thread pitch? I think I have a gauge to measure it with my tap and die set... but I'm not totally sure.

i fucked the thread on my alloy oil pan and i fixed it with a helicoil, no problems for over 2 years and 4 or 5 oil changes now

Andy, measure the bolt size and thread pitch with your tap and die set. The pan will match these, then you can re-tap the pan.
With you losing threads off the pan though, I would suggest going with a larger size, as you won't have the material there to re-thread the current hole. But, as we were talking about, with the "sunken bolt" design of your oil pan, I'm not sure if you can go larger without hitting the walls of that little valley.
Chris would definitely be the guy on this one though.

It's a M12x1,5 thread... Don't you know realoem.com or bmwfans.info part cataloge??? BMW was as smart to write things like that in it... In the Toyodiy.com is only written "Std. Part"...

haha Bobby has 2 mountain bikes, 2 cross bikes, a road bike and is looking for another road bike. ugh. he brings his shit in here caked in dried up mud "my bike isn't shifting properly" well duh. he's an instant $25 bike wash candidate. his shop is just across the freeway from us if you need me to pick up something for you.
