The more I look at this car.. the more I realize that it's not as low as it seems. The wheels and kit give the effect that it's slammed.

I have a feeling that if my car had wheels and a kit like this car.. it would be similar in height.

he relocated the strut mounts in the rear but it was more so he wasn't maxed out completely.

He did that so he could be hella low and retain travel.

My car right now is low so the coilovers themselves don't retain any spring tension as soon as the suspension goes into droop. I need to adjust the strut body height but they are locked up.

yes. I had a typo. He had been maxed out prior to the strut mount mod. what coils are you on geners?

if you want to really really check lowness. you have to check where the sideskirt/front bumper is in relation to where the "bottom" of the wheel is. notice on the yellow car that the bottom of the sideskirt is actually lower than the "bottom" of the wheel. so yes, that car is as low as it appears.

so maybe a silly question,. but would a mod like that be illegal in pro/am competition?

i could see how it would be a chassis mod,.. but i could see how it shouldnt be one too...lol

I dont think you can move any suspension mounts in Pro-Am, so id say no. Then again if it passes tech so be it.

kits are why I like stock bodies, no fronting when you're truly slammed. don't fake the funk.

Yes.. you're right only on a visual aspect.. but I could put on huge pieces of plastic on the sides of my car that touch the ground but it doesn't really make my car any lower.

Look how chunky that bodykit is compared to other kits out there. The chicken's front bumper is VERY similar to that one..except for the lower lip portion. The yellow car's lower lip area is at least 1" deeper than the chicken's.

I'm not denying that this guy's car is probably lower than mine.. but I doubt it's by much because he has a huge honking kit on it.
