I just drove the car around as is... and it drove fine for about a minute and thirty seconds. I even snapped it loose to make a u-turn, and it was fine. I pulled into a parking lot to give it 3 hard pulls, and as I was leaving the parking lot... not even on it that hard... back into limp-mode.

I had the OBD2 scanner in the car, and these are the codes I pulled.

P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor A
P0154 - O2 Circuit No Activity Bank 2
P0158 - Circuit High Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 2
P0138 - Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1
P015 - I didn't write this one down right (apparently)
P1135 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

I know the O2 sensor codes were tripped. They have been for years. But were all those codes tripped at Road Atlanta? I don't remember that many... and I really just cleared them because we were rushed.

It sounds like other than the speed sensor code.. the rest are due to the O2 sensor.

However, I would rule out exhaust system stuff that can cause faulty 02 sensor readings and possibly failure codes. OBD2 cars have a much lower tolerance range than OBD1 cars as far as exhaust system leaks that affect the O2 sensor readings..... so it throws codes.

Did you have any misfire codes as well?

I know that my Subarus throw WILD codes like yours when there are exhaust system issues and also if the ignition system (coilpack, plugs, wires etc) is off kilter.

The speed sensor is part of ABS and DSC. No misfire codes.

I was talking to Matt earlier, and he is thinking the upper O2 wires may have heated up again and fused together. Remember when I thought my shit was blown? That is what happened then.

If that is what it is... AND that speed sensor went out... AND the ABS control module went bad at the same time, then I have shit fucking luck.

I think it could be possible the the o2 sensor wires and stuff could be melted together.. and the speed sensor COULD be bad.. but i believe the ABS stuff is still b/c of not being bled in sequence. I have seen similar things happen.. and it has been a simple fix.

maybe not shit luck.. just poop luck. 8)

Got more codes today that I will post up shortly. One of which was a misfire code on cylinder 6.

My friend had a 3 series once, similar body style, don't know if is the same style engine or whatever, but he got misfiring codes because coilpacks went bad.

We stopped making 4 cylinders after the E36 body. We did however still offer a 323i(e46 body only) and a low emissions motor sold in California.
