So, correct me if I'm wrong . . .it's basically just a tube-frame chassis with a Challenger body? Kinda like an RC or NASCAR?

dude wtf?
i'm pretty sure that car is illegal for formula d because of the front and illegal for D1 because the roof is chopped. unless rules have been changed or something.

theres otehr cars being built like that.
all the OEM unibody between the wheels is still intact. its just had a racecar assembled around it. i honestly don't see anything wrong with that other than they spent a lot of time/$$ building a super reliable racecar.

on a sidenote, who came up with the choptop rumor? have you seen a challenger before, thats stock roofline, its just actually LOW, like really low so you realize how tall the sides of the car are.
