oh and cody you need to post some damn pics...now! oh and what do you mean by crappy oil pan? be careful with that because sr's are very touchy when it comes to dented oil pans. there is very little clearance space between the pan and the sump pick up. they are blocked very easily so watch out dude.

oh, and the pan that came with the new motor was dented from shipping it here but my existing one should hold me over until the greddy one gets here.

CONGRATS CODY!!! another nismo on the road again and with style =D. Glad to hear everything is cool with your car. BTW, did ya FOERST started your engine? Like your finish and then turn the key to start the car?

pretty much, except for having to bypass my alarm and plug in a wire that goes to the starter (which we forgot).

ohman, cause the manual for the SR says to turn the key to on not to start like 10 times or something so the oil can get all through the turbo. Thats what I remember I forgot which burn cd i have the maunal on but i'll recheck it again and see. I did the same you do too. My uncle did a awesome job on my car and it started on the FOERST key turn =D

I'm pretty sure that's how we (err... Cody) did it. I think with all the alarm kill switch confusion he definitely turned it on, but not over many many times. Man was it awesome seeing ol' girl come to life!!!

yea, mike did turn it to one of the FOERST clicks a couple of times and like andy said it took us a few tries to get it right.
now i just wanna finish putting it back together and go for a drive (probably gonna happen on saturday).

its always nice when your car starts and runs. something is up with mine. it will turn on but won't crank....... something is screwy

I think Cody knows of a fix for it (possibly). Some harness disconnects from the block from the starter?? Cody or Mike can say more than me.
It could be something totally different as well.

yea, i'd have to hear a little more to figure out if it's the same as mine, but my problem was easy...
basically the car wouldn't turn over at all but it did have power, so i climbed under and found that there is a little harness that is supposed to be plugged into the starter that had come unplugged. it only sits on a small metal tab and isn't extremely snug, so it's somewhat possibly or likely to happen (actually had it happen a few days after i bought the car but my dad figured it out pretty quick).

not sure if that's your issue or not, but good luck!

i'm not trying to be a dick or anything but, the sr oil pump is chain driven. the only way to circulate oil is to actually turn the motor. what i recall, if memory serves, is that you are supposed to...1. pour about a half teaspoon of oil into each cylinder to prevent cyl scratching. 2. disconnect the crank angle sensor, to keep the motor from actually starting. 3. you just ride the starter for about 10-15 seconds.
