the foglight heat exchangers is part of a water to air intercooler system that eric is developing. basically instead of cooling the intercooler with moving air it circulates water through the heat exchanger to create a colder intake charge. this system combines the advantages of a FMIC and TMIC for the optimal intake temps without all the extra piping required for a FMIC. as far as engine management goes that car is running UTEC. for my personal car i plan to either do the ECUTEK flash or the Cobb Access port. hope that answered your questions.

Don't know too much about utec honestly. I really loved what the access port offers though as far as maps and such. I just don't know what to get yet! I have gotten a chance to dig through some of the ecutek code though and it looked pretty solid.
i'm holding off on any kind of engine management for awhile. I have a bunch more stuff to do before i actually need it. and in the meantime i can collect data.

i havent heard of anyone getting det with ECUTEK??? from my experience it runs very smoothly on WRXs and i expect the same results when it is made available for STi's. I have heard of UTEC having detonation problems however. While UTEC is a piggyback system, and ECUTEK is not, the biggest advantage of UTEC is being able to run multiple maps and switch on the fly. Both forms of EM have their pros and cons, but the most important factor is the tuner.OutDriveU wrote:nobody why not the Utech? From what I heard the ECUTEk has a problem with the knock sensing and can lead to the engine blowing pretty easily. I can get the details. But a couple unbiased people said to stay away. But what do I know

i need to have a test pipe installed unless my DP is long enough and eliminated my cat, then all i need is my exhaust to opened up some more... i found a muffler section of a blitz nur spec but i was kinda looking for something with the stock look kinda like the Tanabe hyper system but nothing is 3" wide... it's all like 2.5 or something. but i need to have that exhaust section fabbed up cuz i don't want it crush bent ya know... and maybe get some electronic tuning later on... PS do you guys have an intake kit for an RB20DET or know a good one... i can't find shiznit for this engine and it's driving me crazy.
