guess who got sway bars!!!!!
Well my car survived a minor ding with a swaybars [it got accidentally run into with one of them by Porter- ouch:( ] , but I *DO* finally have sway bars now-- they just aren't on the car yet. Whiteline 27mm front bar and 24 to 26mm adjustable rear bar. I am sooo excited to get them on the car.
So who thinks they can maybe help me out with getting them on? Dan, I think you owe me some help for all the badgering you do;) Besides, you did yours so you should know what's up with it....[ie taking the jack plate off or whatev] Seriously, I will return the favor to anyone who helps out with food or liquor or something.
please?:)

awesome... well what time you gonna be out there? I probably will leave here around 4:30 or 5 so I guess anytime after that is good with me. Not sure what your class schedule is.
If it starts to rain, we can always move things into my parking deck-- if you'll be able to drive the GTS home without the diff after.

I'm out of class at 4, so whenever would be good.nobody wrote:awesome... well what time you gonna be out there? I probably will leave here around 4:30 or 5 so I guess anytime after that is good with me. Not sure what your class schedule is.
I'm doing exploratory surgery, so I'm going to have to pull the diff, take it up to my room, and open her up for real, then order parts from toyota roswell, and probably have her back in the car around wednesday, and I'd rather not have my baby sleeping over at other people's houses.nobody wrote:If it starts to rain, we can always move things into my parking deck-- if you'll be able to drive the GTS home without the diff after.
*sings* my corolla breaks down more than your corolla!

well suck. Apparently you have to remove some of the subframe. I'm not doing that stuff without air tools or some sort of impact gun.

double monkeyshit
on top of removing some of the front subframe, you've gotta work around some of the rear emissions kit, which means you have to let the exhaust compleatly cool.
you're gonna need
Ramps. (which I don't know if you can get up on thanks to low front end)
Allen wrench (to hold the endlink when removing the bolt
Some type of impact, because fuckin' subframe mounts are hell to remove, and you want to put them back just as hellariffic.
See I cheated when doing my accord's. I changed the bar when the car was up in the air, not on ramps, but didn't tighten everything down. Lowered her down and then tightened it up. That works, and works well, but only if you can get at the bolts when she's on the ground. Doesnt look like anything like that is possible on the scubby-ride.

That page got me worrying, because there's only so much I can do in the parking lot of my apartment, and that's about two steps past that... Well, come to think of it, pulling my diffrerential is way past that too...
then again, that's my car, so fucking up and damaging things isn't that bad.

If you take the wheels off, you can slide the bar out without removing the subframe:

That's how Porter told me to do it...although some people say they haven't been able to do it that way.
But, it's probably better for me to wait anyhow for someone who has done it on my car before.
