Since SOMEONE (Andy...) wanted me to start a thread of my favorite cars I've shot at events. Here we go.

Miles of Styles. His car is just aesthetically pleasing to me and I don’t know why

Re: Travis car photography
This guy… this guy decided to put a Hellcat supercharger on an LS… it’s such a crazy thing to hear ripping around a track! Plus, good color car! And he got bonus points for having some Koru bits in his car. Jonathan Andrews (@jonathen_a on the gram)

Re: Travis car photography
Dang! That looks like it was an amazing turn out! I didn't know even know about until yesterday. I probably wouldn't have showed up though. Between the heat and the Datsun not running at the moment, I don't do much car stuff at the moment. But it would've nice to see some of the DM's.

Re: Travis car photography
oh it was HOOOOOOOOOOOOT out!!!!!! i drank around 2 gallons of water and was still feeling it... and sadly AMP is not much for spectating.. or media if we are being honest... only rear great seats in the house is the driver or passenger seat of the cars on track hahaha
Re: Travis car photography
but talking to the guys that ran the event, there was something like 75 registered drivers for that event.
Re: Travis car photography
Yessssss!!! These rule!! Man, I love the shots of Austin where the color of his car fades to black. Those are so cool! I can tell you were all o'er the place on-track to get your coverage. Your shots turned out killer!
It's wild, man. All day long I couldn't help but think how drifting has grown up. The level of talent both in the driving and the cars... it's absolutely insane. I thought it at Gridlife too... but e'en moreso at AMP because it was a bit more like just a regular drift day.
I feel you on the spectating there. I had plans to shoot a bunch of super 8 for America's 250th... and once we were there I was like... I can't see shit! Also I very much went into energy conserving mode because of the heat. It was SCARY hot.

Re: Travis car photography
Also I didn't e'en know you COULD put a Hellcat supercharger on an LS. Insane!
Re: Travis car photography
sadly they only really let us be in 2 places for media.. one by the water tower and one by the backside of the track near the last few turns. AMP is SUPER strict on where media can and can not be.. Austins car always amazing! it either sticks out like a sore thumb, or it blends in and looks like another black car going down the track hahaandysapp wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 6:41 pm Yessssss!!! man, just form going back and watching some of the old videos from before i was around until now is a HUGE change! and a rapid change at that!
yeah, temps were getting a little to much for me at one point, i had to go sit in the car when the track went cold because of lightning haha and thats with pounding water like a mad man!
Re: Travis car photography
i didn't either until i saw his car at polecat a couple of months back! at FOERST i was like "who is driving a hellcat as a drift car?!" then i saw that orange machine coming towards me just whining like crazy!andysapp wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 6:42 pm Also I didn't e'en know you COULD put a Hellcat supercharger on an LS. Re: Travis car photography
Dang, I didn't know you only had two spots! You did well for only having two spots.
And yeah... it was too hot. I feel a little on the fence on whether I'd do this event again next year. Between the heat and my car not being very well suited for it, I just feel unsure. Maybe I'll just cross that bridge when it comes around again.
