I have heard the same thing actually, but I'll probably just grab that because it can be delivered to my house without me having to go out and gather the resistor, etc.
nobody or dan or anyone else that has painted the headlights. what kind of paint did you use? any tips for me? i am planning on doing this sometime this week. i know its pretty straigtforward but i dont want to make any mistakes. thanks!!! sorry i know it was off topic.
I used the rustoleom high temperature grill paint. It does give that flat black look like you saw in mine. Dan used engine enamel I think and you saw his as well.
I suggest getting a can of compresed air [like for electronics], spraying light paint coats from a far distance and letting them dry. Then spray the surface off with the air to remove any debris that could cause imperfections in the paint. Keep doing lots of light coats!
Have you seen the How to on NASIOC? That's what I followed.
It's a piece of cake to do, 3 screws to pull the light out, remove the 2 holder pluggy thingies closest to the lights in the bumper. take the 9 screws on the back of the light itself. Bake for 12 mins at 200 degrees. Pry apart, then unscrew the lens and start your painting.
