I think most... if not all BMW e-brakes are the tiny drum shoes on the inside of the rotor. They don't work for shit. I can get mine to lock up... but when I need it the most - it never does.

are there more aggressive pads for the drum brakes?

loads of nissan Drivers over here put the S13, Z32 or Skyline brakes on, and say the drum brakes work way better than the handbrakes wich work with the standart calipper.

I fully agree that the drum brakes are shit, never were able to test a good one. but maybe its an easy fix with agressiv pads?

On all my Bimmers i have good working Handbrakes, ask Thistle he spinned out FOERST time when he drove my 325 in Tuttlingen last year "Oh FOERST Bimmer Brake that works"

But its not aggressive enough... You pull it hard and it comes slowly and you have to pull it real hard...
