Well, tonight... the inevitable happened. Dori damage on the e46.

On an undisclosed location... I was "manji'ing" for a long while. The connected drifts slowly began to taper off (the clutch doesn't want to keep power too well), when I gassed it hard and gave it a hard weight shift. She snapped back to the right with mad angle & speed... then she kicked back left - and over-rotated.

We were sliding backwards with some angle... my foot to the floor (on the brakes). As we were barrelling ass end FOERST, I was looking out my window... watching the curb approaching fast.

One second more of braking distance, and we would have been better off... but alas... BAM!! We smacked it.

We hit the rear wheel against it FOERST... then the front followed. The rim damage is expendable... I snapped the Bilstein clean in two. I knocked my alignment off to Mars... may have bent a tie-rod. I'm taking it into Global Imports tomorrow morning early to have them diagnose it. It sucks... but it could have been a lot worse.

I guess you could say I learned my lesson. A. When you're drifting well... don't push it. B. Everyone hits shxxxt eventually. C. All of the above.

On a positive note... I rawked my yellow lense conversion today, and it's the hawtness! These pictures don't do it any justice. It looks amazing! I'll try and snap some daytime shots tomorrow.
:D

Andy thats sucks, weren't those shocks pretty new? Hope you were able to limp it home.

The headlights look killer, what did you use on them? Film? I've been wanting to do the same to my 240 for a while now.

This sucks but I'm glad Andy and Hoorah are still in one piece. But, the headlights are killer. Hopefully the e46 will be back on the prowl sooner than later.

You know, I wonder if you could get the shocks warranted. I am pretty sure that they have a lifetime warranty, just be like "Idon't know what happened, they just broke!". LOL

no mechanical damage at all except for temp. massive balance issues due to lbs of mud caked in my spokes. 8) i've already bent the fender/bumper mounts back so those look as good as before, just some nasty wrinkle dents in my rear quarter panel that i can't really fix... and won't pay to have fixed.

this is what this car is for!

DOUCHE DAMAGE

Wow, thats f'ed up. So you are bragging about losing control of your car on the open road?? Would been even funnier if you wrecked into the one of the hundred bikes that drive that same road. Manslaughter charges would be down right hilarious, maybe we can hope next time that happens. Man, you're the greatest douche drifter ever, you should pat yourself on the back for that one.
