What up Drift Mechaniks. Wanted to share some of my footage from Red Bull with you guys and will post more links as soon as I finish edits.

Anyone make it out to the event? If so, what did you think?

The whole weekend was smoked out by the wildfires that are burning in the area and the smoke was intense. It was actually raining ash on everything. If you can imagine tire debris and ash like sitting next to a bonfire falling on you constantly. Plus the sun light took on a strange glow that it gets when there are wildfires- which makes everything look surreal.

Rhys was fastest all weekend. I wanted to see the international guys last longer into the bracket, but no luck. Yoshihara vs Ueo was probably one of my favorite match-ups of the entire event. Ueo was pushing really hard and it was exciting to witness.

More soon.

if your videos were ranked by dead babies, we would no longer have a global population overload.

A++++++++++

ps - after shooting for the whole day, how'd you like the Nikon?

The best thing to come out of any of this is that I learned that Rhys doesn't have a tire sponsor anymore. Simply wonderful.

Some of the Nikon video footage is in the Rhys video. It was challenging to shoot Nikon. I really was impressed with the D90. Its start up was quick, controls simple, and menus intuitive. Now if the lenses' would focus in the same direction as canon and mount in the same direction too- wow life would be easy and I wouldn't have missed so many focus pulls ;)

the Nikon glass I was shooting with was top notch- 12-24 2.8 & 7-200 2.8

I saw some pics of the sky that Antonio posted up on SH. It looked like the set of a post-apocalyptic zombie flick. That shot of Remmo's E30 is GNAR!!! I love how it ends.

I can't WAIT to see a full edit from this event.
