POSSIBLE FAIRLADY on the way...
ok fellas.. here's how it goes....i know that its not a great idea.. but i have been considering doin a TRUE fairlady z... flashoptions.com has a RHD twin turbo front clip for a 300zx for 2600 (5-speed).. and i have found a donor car for a reasonable price... anyone know of a GOOD bodyshop that would perform such a task? what u fellas think of that idea?

I can bet you the condition of that dash/interior is worse than d-town atlanta roads. What is the donor car you have to put it in (N/A or TT?)? You wanting an engine swap, interior, all of it, or what? Have you worked with Z32's at all before? Talk to Russel at Z1 Motorsports in Temple, Ga. (about 20 minutes outside ATL off of I-20 going towards Al.)

ohh yah.. the donor car is an NA.. but it shouldn't matter if the front clip will get replaced right?

Re: thanks for the help
naw, it's doesn't really matter either way but you would be suprised how many people ask what NA means (even when saying it in the same sentence as TT)....that's my way of determining whether I'm wasting time talking to someone or notSPAWN wrote:ohh yah.. the donor car is an NA.. but it shouldn't matter if the front clip will get replaced right?
Sounds like you may know a little bit about them though. The NA won't have the HICAS and all the other shit to deal with, I would love to build a slicktop TT and really wanted to get that charcoal JWT TT from Russell (Z1) a few years ago...pretty quick but I was getting tired of working on them. When I have about $50k cash laying around not doing anything I'll put about half of it into the engine and the other half into the body and suspension then I'll be set. Until then I don't want anything to do with them.
yah.. yah..
well anyways.. i checked up on the car... LOTTA rust on it... i wouldn't have minded the rust being on the NA front clip.. but it was all over the car.. so this plan is scrapped... was a good idea while it lasted...
well thanks for the comment.. i try to learn AS MUCH as i can on a future project car.. something a lot of people need to learn in their life...

Unless you know someone that can pick one up for you then most of the engines and clips advertised have been sitting out in a stockyard/junkyard unprotected from the weather, usually about 2 years....look at all the honda longblocks imported into the states (or any engine), everything steel is coated in rust...all the pulleys, brackets, electrical, etc.
If you are really interested in this project then I know someone that may be able to get you one from Taiwan. I'm trying to get a few things myself right now and I'll ask him if he knows anyone with a fairlady.
