Honestly, the tapered one is probably slightly more efficent (less pressure drop) but you'd probably never notice a different between the two.

The problem on the MX73 is the spring-off-shock rear suspension, much like the AE86 Corolla. I never understood why the Corolla guys didn't just mpunt a coil over wher the shock...
